Lake Titicaca

Price available upon request. Lake Titicaca, in Puno, took quite the adventure to get to, but was well worth it. I stayed for 24 hours on Uros Islands - man-made floating islands in the middle of the lake. It is hard to explain or describe the culture of the people who live there. The Quechua people differ from the ones I came across further up in the Andes, in Cusco or Santa Teresa. The language slightly differed, the clothing, and even their mannerisms. They built the most beautiful boats - almost reminiscent of Asian-styled dragons - that were painted in bold colors, and crossed slowly, back and forth, on top of the fog laden lake, shuttling the locals to and from each others homes.
